While children can use Osmo games without this, using paper instead, this board will make it much more fun and will save paper. That's a win win. 

It provides a perfectly sized Creative board and dry erase chalk markers so you child can draw, wipe clean and draw again. 

This is particularly beneficial with playing Osmo Monster where Monster asks you to draw certain things, you draw them, then he picks them up and interacts with what you drew - it is pretty amazing. My daughter loves playing with Monster. Before we got this board she went through a lot of paper. I am happy that is no longer the case and she can use this board over and over again.
